Can you download home dvd to ipod touch on Mac

have Mac OS X 10.6.3 and I have some DVDs I would like to put onto my iPod but there is no actual files that I can just put straight onto it it's all random things. Does anyone know a converter that will work with my operating system and version? -Brute G
